Older Women Project Grants
Women’s
Health NSW (WHNSW) is the peak organisation representing 21 NSW
Health funded Women’s Health Centres throughout NSW.
NSW Health has
recently issued the NSW Women’s Health Action Plan 2009 –
2011. This provides interim direction to the NSW Women’s Health
Strategy, pending the release of a new National Women’s Health
Policy.
The WHNSW Small
Grants Program aims to encourage the development of innovative projects/programs
designed to empower older women and improve their health particularly
those with the poorest health in NSW. Applications are invited up
to a value of $10,000.
Selection
Criteria
It
is essential that applications address all the essential criteria
- Projects
need to be evidence based and address health issues relevant to
the health of older women in NSW.
- Include
a realistic evaluation plan, sustainable and capable of being
replicated.
- Consistent
with the Priority Actions identified in the NSW Health Women’s
Health Action Plan 2009 – 2011 ie
- Improve
the health of women, especially those with the poorest health
- Build
the health system’s knowledge about how gender sensitive
approaches improve women’s health
- Demonstrate
an understanding of gender analysis, the social determinants of
health and the principles of women’s health care.
- Demonstrate
working in partnership.
